Here we have an older 1st RNZIR cap badge (on the left) that was formed after WWII This unit served in Malaya in 1957. The other badge is the 2nd RNZIR and dates its origin to 1845 as the Nelson Marlborough West Coast Regt. This Regt supplied units during both World Wars. It was combined with the Canterbury Regt. in 1964.
